Product of the Month ~ No.1

Hey everyone, so today I'm going to start a new series called 'Product of the Month' and will be able to share with you one product each month that has changed my life, just a little fraction more than any others have. So do tell me whether or not you like these posts and also if you have a favourite product of the month. I'd love to find out what you have been loving and can't wait to try some new products out!

Are you ready? (let's get cracking)

So my product of this month has to be: ...Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm...

... firstly it's so tasty (I have to force myself not to lick it all off because it smells and tastes AMAZING!) but it is also really refreshing and mega moisturising. I know this lip balm used to be talked about all the time yet here I am, once again late on the bandwagon, but anyways who cares right? I love using this product in the summer but especially love using it in winter because it is so calming and nourishing especially if you suffer from dry lips (which I definitely do in both seasons from going hot to cold, cold to hot). I would really recommend this if you have sensitive lips because it is honey based which is a fabulous thing as honey is widely known to heal and soothe due to its antibacterial properties. The lip balm contains special plant oils (for example Calendulofficinalis also known as English marigold) and contains zero nasties - which is a big bonus these days! The price is therefore on the higher side for a simple lip product but I don't think that's a bad thing as it ticks all of my boxes.

Hope you all are well, and that this helped you even a tiny amount! I have missed writing blog posts but this year has been beyond cRaZy! I hope all of you who are now on summer are having a smashing time :)

Take me away - Summer 2015

Hello you lovely lot so today I wanted to share with you a snippet of my little adventure to Granada, Spain. It was such a lovely holiday and a much needed break as I am going into a hard exam focused year - so I was very grateful to get away for a few weeks.

lift off is my favourite part of the whole trip!

'No Ordinary Cupcakes' The Rainbow Cupcake...

Hey lovelies so today I baked some different cakes and wanted to show you how to make them...they are rainbow cupcakes. Can life get any better? I don't think so :) enjoy!

Ingredients (makes 12):
125g unsalted butter
125g self raising flour
125g caster sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla extract
3 tbsp. milk
4 bottles food colouring (red, green, blue and yellow)
12 cupcakes cases

Method...
First preheat the oven to 200 degrees
Mix together the sugar and butter until pale and fluffy.
Beat the eggs in one at a time adding a little flour in each time until the ingredients are mixed.
Add the vanilla essence and mix. Then add the milk 1 tablespoon at a time mixing after each addition.

Divide the mixture into 6 bowls:
In Bowl 1 - Add half a cap of red colouring
In Bowl 2 - Add half a cap of red and half a cap of yellow
In Bowl 3 - Add half a cap of yellow
In Bowl 4 - Add half a cap of green
In Bowl 5 - Add half a cap of blue
In Bowl 6 - Add half a cap of blue and half a cap of red
Mix colouring into each mixture after adding.
Divide the purple mixture between the 12 cases. Repeat with the others, so you would divide the blue mixture in to the 12 cupcake cases and then the green and then the yellow and so on.
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes.

This is what they should look like...
And if you wanted to add butter icing see this blog post, and I just crushed some chocolate coasted sweets and sprinkled them on top of the cakes.
Let me know if you like these cupcake posts?
P.s Sorry it took so long for me to post again

REVIEW - Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

Hey Guys! How has your week been? Today I wanted to review Garnier's Miceller water, I have been using it everyday this week to take my make up off and I have been loving it! I actually think it is better than Bioderma, because it takes eye make up off quicker and more gently. It is now my favourite product for removing make up, it's amazing! Plus for the money it is great value. If you have been contemplating whether to purchase this product, I definitely would - I guarantee you'll like it...

Let me know if you have tried this product and, if so, do you like it?

DIY Heart Valentine Gift

Hey guys! Sorry I didn't post last Friday (slaps wrist) I literally had so much to do. Anyway I wanted to make a little series of quick and easy 'DIY Valentine Gifts'! They are basically ideas that anyone can make and you will get another two projects this week (does that make up for my lack of posts?)

So here it is...
You will need:
fabric
scissors
thread
needle
Stuffing Fluff
and a button

Step 1: Cut out two identical hearts or you can cut out a template from online to guide you
Step 2: Then turn the front faces down so the back of the face is looking up to you

Step 3: Next sew around the edge but leave an inch not sewn at the end
Step 4: Turn the heart inside out through the hole you left

Step 5: Stuff the heart and make sure it is nice and firm!
Step 6: Then sew up the hole and adjust the heart to your liking

Step 7: Thread the needle again and attach a button to the middle of the heart
Step 8: Wrap it up and give it either to a friend or your Valentine...

all my love

A Birthday Wishlist

Hey sweetie pies, so next weekend it's my birthday and I can't tell you how excited I am! I think Christmas and Birthdays are just the best! I always love making wish lists because wishing is one of my favourite things too do! Here is what I really love....

For the longest time ever I have been eyeing up these gorgeous Chelsea boots from New Look and love that they aren't too expensive!
Then on my list is this lovely Leather jacket, I still can't believe that I haven't owned one in my life before! but this one is in the Topshop sale which is an added bonus.
Lastly is this beautiful Navy Blue Dress from ZARA which would look lovely with the Chelsea boots in my opinion.
What have you been wishing for recently?

Little Blue Bird for your Keys

Hello everyone! Its Back to school season after the Christmas holidays (which can be so hard, I know) and because of that, I thought I would  show you a DIY project! Today, I'm going to make a Little Blue Bird that will keep your house keys from getting lost in the black hole that is...
.... a handbag! This DIY takes a little bit of preparation but is easy if you follow these steps!

You will need:

2 pieces of blue felt
a little bit of light blue felt
a tiny bit of green felt
a bundle of thread
2 black beads for the eyes
some stuffing
some Ric-a-Rac and a piece of ribbon

Extra Embellishments (use whatever you want):
some cotton fabric (mine is dotty)
different coloured felt

Equipment:
Scissors
needle
a lanyard clip (this is the metal thing that attaches the bird to your keys, however if you don't have it the alternative is just ribbon)

and a template of a bird here is a pretty one, I used a template I had lying around!

Instructions:

Firstly cut out your templates and cut them all out. You need to cut two blue bird bodies out of blue felt, a circle for its eye out of light blue and cut two leaves out of green felt. Feel free to add any embellishments you want to your birdy..

Then sew on all the embellishments like so..

Next add the ribbon on to the bird and attach to the lanyard clip

MAC Lip Glaze 'Hue'

Hey everyone, sorry that I have been lacking in the blog post department, I just haven't been inspired to sit down and write about something that I'm not interested in. I decided this week (yes it's a little late for a New Years resolution, but I only just thought of it) that I want to post at least one post every week on a Friday. This means I will have a little routine for my blog!
Anyway, what I wanted to do today was write a review on MAC's Lip Glaze 'Hue' which is one of MAC's original colours, I believe (I think originals are the best) and I picked it up the other day. It is my first MAC product (gasp) and I love it so much. First of all can I just say that the "lid" click MAC lipsticks have is so satisfying, if you don't own one just go in to your closest store and put the lid on (I told you). Now, lets not get side tracked, the actual colour is pale pink with a tinge of nude. It has a glossy texture and doesn't dry out the lips. It is so beautiful. If your thinking of purchasing it I recommend it completely!

I hope you all have had a great week!

Topshop Lipstick - Infrared

Hello there, Guess what?.....It's Christmas Eve eve today argh! I hope you have wrapped all your presents. Today, I wanted to do a review on Topshop's 'Infrared' Lipstick...

....First of all the packaging omg, it is so cute and feels really good quality especially as it has a really good price tag. The actual product is super pigmented and is such a beautiful burnt orange colour. In my opinion it is great for anytime of the year. Topshop lipsticks cost £8.00 and really if you think about it: a really pigmented lipstick; pretty packaging and a non-drying out consistency, this product is amazing value.

Have you tried out the Topshop Lipsticks?
